I am Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science at Kiel University, Germany.
My research focuses on the party politics of foreign policy, with an emphasis on military interventions and parliamentary oversight of the armed forces. I also work on NATO, French and German foreign policy, identity, populism, strategic culture, and methods.
I received my PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I was the 2024-25 President of the Foreign Policy Analysis Section of the International Studies Association (ISA).
